Visitors to volcanoes often collect lava rocks as mementos, holding in their hands the once-revered fiery wrath of nature, now tamed and disarmed (and likely sitting reservedly on their mantelpieces). Ignis is a gentle reminder of Dame Nature's mysterious and unpredictable temperament, one which demands respect and awe, and never to be underestimated, subdued and manipulated by humankind.

Purple Rain

A pair of precious moss amethyst briolettes hang from a gold fill cable chain. Beautiful because (not in spite of) of their imperfection, these 6mm-long light lilac briolettes have green moss inclusions that make them unique and one of a kind. They are handwrapped with gold fill wire and hung from a 16-inch gold fill chain.

 Being an old school kind of girl, I adore the vintage-inspired filigree ovals that exude charm from the days of yore.  Lace dresses worn by flapper girls, delicate vintage lace doilies... you get the drift. Heh. For a dash of colour, I've added blue Swarovski bicones tinted with a wee bit of lilac.

Filigree ovals and ball end ear wires are white gold-plated.

In the Limelight - Sold

Inspired by my tenure at a local theatre company, this piece is reminiscent of gobos, which are mental templates used in theatre placed in front of a lighting source. Beautiful and intricate pattens are then cast over the set to set the scene and create the appropriate mood. Just one of many simple and interesting but very vital production techniques used in the world of theatre!

Hollow antiqued brass tube pendants are paired with antiqued brass ear hooks.

If merriment could be worn, it would look exactly like this precious pair. In a delightful colour combination, these lovely jewels will add a dash of vibrance to your outfit and brighten up your smile.

The price of this piece is a tad steep, because it's chockful of semi-precious stones, crystals and quality gold fill components. Euphrosyne is created by hand-wrapping orange carnelian, teal Swarovski drops and lime green quartz briolettes with gold fill wire onto gold fill cable chains.

 All briolettes are faceted, and all findings 14k gold fill.

A trip to Krabi last year was one of the best I'd taken, what with great chums and awesome food (well, it's Thailand. Can't go wrong with that). Save for the random drizzles (we visited in December - not the best time of the year), weaving through rugged islets in our kayaks and awkward life jackets, lunching amidst tall coconut trees and playing with friendly stray felines on said islets, and, most memorable for me, bobbing about in beautiful lagoons with turquoise-emerald waters - what's not to love? Bebel, with its blue aventurine baubles (alliteration delights me, like accidental puns. Heh.), makes a perfect accompaniment to sun-drenched beaches, blue skies and water, and blissful respite that only a summer holiday can afford.

Verdure
